Is the Razer Pro Type Ergo Good for World of Warcraft?

After 60+ hours with the keyboard across World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Diablo, and daily typing, WoW is where the Pro Type Ergo makes the strongest case for itself.

Fast Answer

Yes — especially for long WoW sessions

The split layout, wrist support, full-size design, macro access, and comfort over several hours mattered more in WoW than raw switch speed. It is the keyboard we preferred for extended MMO sessions.

Why WoW Fits It

Comfort beats compactness here

World of Warcraft rewards a setup you can live with for hours.

Wrist Support

The biggest advantage. The ergonomic support made long sessions easier than a conventional TKL board.

Macro + Full Layout

The number pad and macro keys were actually used, giving the board practical value beyond its ergonomic shape.

Quick Adaptation

The split layout looked unusual, but the adjustment period was short and did not remain a barrier.

The Tradeoffs

Where it is less convincing

There are real compromises.

Minimal Lag

We noticed only minimal lag. It did not ruin WoW play, but highly competitive players may prefer a more gaming-specialized connection.

Forced Software

The hardware won us over more than the software. The companion software felt more mandatory than it should.

Against the Apex Pro TKL

Why we chose the Razer for WoW

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 felt better for typing and Overwatch, and Rapid Trigger had a slight gaming advantage. For World of Warcraft, though, the Razer's comfort and wrist support mattered more than the Apex's speed-focused features.

Verdict

A strong WoW keyboard if comfort comes first

If your WoW sessions regularly stretch for hours, the Pro Type Ergo is one of the better fits in our tested lineup. It is not the smallest or most competitive-looking board, but that is exactly why it works: it prioritizes comfort over theater.
